Since the first shovel scratched the desert floor decades ago, Las Vegas has been attracting a wide variety of revelers ranging from the glitz and glamour of the Rat Pack era to the electric pulse of dance grooves that serge through the city’s many nightclubs. With a slightly lower profile, golf has also made its mark along those lines, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), OB Sports Golf Management and TravisMathew joined forces to launch the Las Vegas Deuces Wild. 

A three-round, two-person-team amateur golf event to be held November 10-13, 2013, Las Vegas Deuces Wild also includes a poker tournament , Grand Prix racing and plenty of other Vegas-style action. 

“For most avid golfers, playing in a competitive environment adds a measure of excitement not usually found during a typical round of golf on a weekend afternoon,” said Julian Dugas, Director of Sports Marketing for the LVCVA.  “Golf is the attraction and Las Vegas is the destination.  Gaming, dining, pools, clubs, entertainment, it’s all here for participants to enjoy in addition to great golf.”    

TravisMathew will be the official merchandise partner and presenting sponsor of the event.  The energetic, fun-loving attitude of the TravisMathew crew will blend in perfectly with the spirit of the tournament. The TravisMathew Tour Bus—loaded with goods—will arrive on opening day, and participants will have the chance to climb aboard, ring-up $100 worth of TravisMathew gear and enjoy a cold beverage from the bus’ upper deck.

The golf venues include Angel Park Golf Club, Painted Desert Golf Club and Bear’s Best Golf Club.  Lodging options include JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa, Element by Westin Las Vegas Summerlin, Suncoast Hotel & Casino, Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino and more.

The event kicks off on Sunday with an optional practice round for a special fee.   Golfers may also opt to take part in the Par-3 Contest at Angel Park in the afternoon. By that time, the party on the TravisMathew Tour Bus will be in full swing. Then, the action moves indoors for the Pairings Party at Nino’s Grille at Angel Park.    

Monday is all golf followed by go-cart racing at Las Vegas Grand Prix. Tuesday tees off at 10 a.m. and doesn’t let up until the final hand is dealt at the poker tournament at JW Marriott‘s Rampart Casino.  And, after Wednesday’s final round, the champs will be crowned during the awards BBQ. 

Entry fee is $499 per player if registered prior to September 10, 2013 ($525 if registered 9/11/13 - 10/10/13). This also includes chances to win prizes during on-course competitions. It includes daily continental breakfast and lunch Monday-Wednesday. Shuttle transportation will also be provided, to and from the primary host resorts.
