Monet Flores’ gross score of 141 qualified her as both the 2014 Wigwam Amateur Champion and the City Champion. City of Litchfield Park Mayor Thomas L. Schoaf presented trophies.

The City of Litchfield Park and The Wigwam hosted the Wigwam Amateur Championship at the historic Wigwam Golf Club over Memorial Weekend. This two day, 36-hole individual stroke play tournament was open to all amateurs with valid AGA or USGA handicaps and turned out to be a very exciting and competitive event.

Three Litchfield Park residents received top honors in their respective divisions. The Wigwam Amateur (Gross) Champion was 16 year old phenom Monet Flores, who shot an impressive total of 141, three under par, for the tournament. The Net Champion was Wendell Tatum with a net total of 136. Senior Net Champion, Jim Schnepp, also had a net total of 136, winning a very tight race in the Senior Flight.

Residents of the City of Litchfield Park playing in the Wigwam Amateur Championship were automatically entered into the City Championship, as well. Monet Flores’ gross score of 141 qualified her as both the 2014 Wigwam Amateur Champion and the City Champion. Litchfield Park Mayor Thomas L. Schoaf presented the awards to all winners in each division at the awards luncheon on Sunday, May 25th.
