Arizona’s leading junior golf program, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) is launching its 2014 pledge campaign for the 13th Annual 100-Hole Golf Marathon. The 100-Hole Marathon challenges participants to play 100 holes of golf in one day to raise funds for the JGAA.

Held at the Bear Creek Golf Complex in Chandler on Saturday, September 20, the Marathon expects to draw 50 players with a fundraising goal of $125,000. There is no entry fee, however participants are encouraged to kick-off their pledge gathering by sponsoring themselves for a minimum of $100 total and set a total pledge goal of $2,500. Sponsors may pledge any amount, whether a flat pledge amount or a per hole basis.

The 100-Hole Marathon originated in 2001 to support the JGAA’s programs and activities. The Marathon not only challenges golfers on the course, but also challenges them to raise pledges in a fun and interactive format. Since its inception, the 100-Hole Marathon continues to be the organization’s largest fundraiser providing thousands of dollars, which in turn exposes junior golfers throughout Arizona the opportunity to play golf affordably with the organization. The tax-deductible donation assists with programming, scholarships and outreach to grow the game through junior golf.

“The JGAA 100-Hole Golf Marathon is our largest fundraiser of the year. We are looking for players to participate as well as donors. It’s a fun day of golf among friends, while the dollars raised will help with programming, scholarships and our financial aid program,” said Scott McNevin, Executive Director of the JGAA.
