Arizona’s Crowne Plaza® San Marcos Golf Resort announces new membership options

Interwest Capital’s Crowne Plaza® San Marcos Golf Resort has unveiled a variety of attractively-priced new membership options, making it more convenient and affordable than ever for local golfers and frequent travelers to enjoy remarkable golf and world-class amenities.

Among the new offerings are individual and family full golf memberships, featuring unlimited tee times seven days a week; weekday-only individual and family memberships; and corporate memberships. All membership options include tee time reservations up to 10 days in advance; no green fees; 25% off guest fees; a trail fee option for private cart owners living in the surrounding development; club charging privileges; golf merchandise discounts; inclusion in member-only golf and social events; and a monthly newsletter. For a limited time, new members will be invited to participate in a golf course grand re-opening event scheduled for Tuesday, October 28.

Coinciding with the new membership offerings, the resort is in the process of completing the final phase of a multi-million dollar renovation project designed to modernize and significantly elevate the golf course and clubhouse facility while preserving the unique character of the original property. Scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2014, the project is being spearheaded by leading golf course management company Touchstone Golf.

In addition to members, the golf course and clubhouse are accessible to daily fee golfers and guests of the adjacent Mission Revival-style resort.

A national leader in the hospitality sector, Interwest Capital acquired the historic resort property in early 2013, with $8.5 million in renovations planned. Interwest partnered with Touchstone Golf, Development Services and Golf Maintenance Solutions, and appointed HRI Lodging of New Orleans to manage the hotel.

Built in 1912 by Chandler, Arizona founder Dr. Alexander J. Chandler as the centerpiece to a master planned community, the Mission Revival-style San Marcos Resort is renowned for offering the state’s first grass golf course. In stark contrast to most traditional desert target golf courses, the par-72, 6626-yard San Marcos Golf Course features lush, salt cedar and palm tree-lined fairways, undulating manicured greens, sparkling water features and an abundance of indigenous flora and fauna.
