With two superb golf courses, complete practice facilities, excellent dining and special event services – all within a short trip to West Valley’s sports venues – Palm Valley Golf Club offers desert-style challenges with plenty of room for accomplished players to stretch their legs while still delivering a rewarding experience for the rest of us weekend warriors.

Located just north of I-10 on Litchfield Road and 20 minutes west of downtown Phoenix, Palm Valley’s original Palms Course is one of the most popular tracks in the Valley. Designed by renowned golf course architect, Arthur Hills, the 7,015-yard layout provides a traditional golf experience with shimmering water hazards and tall palm trees dotting the skyline. The desert does come into play, but there’s a bit more room to maneuver compared to the typical desert layout. Of the many solid golf holes, the eighteenth stands out. It features a lateral water hazard to the left that wraps around the three tiered green. It’s a classic Hills creation that is routinely cited by avid players as one of the best par 5s in the state. For those who need a little boost on this hole, as well as the entire golf course, “Palm Tees” shorten the course to 4,200 yards and make it suitable for play by juniors or beginning players.

Palm Valley’s Lakes Course was created by golf legend Hale Irwin to give players a high-quality, yet shorter, alternative to the championship golf experience of the Palms Course. The 18-hole, mid-length course measures 4,745 yards from the back tees, and features eight par 4s and 10 par 3s. With a par of 62, the course allows players to enjoy a fun and challenging round of golf in considerably less time than most rounds require. Additionally, landing areas are generous and the golf course’s numerous lakes and water features are designed to reduce forced carries, enabling the Lakes Course to accommodate players of all abilities.

In addition to the golf experiences, Palm Valley features a well-appointed golf shop, complete practice facility and the Fairway Grille, which sports a full-service bar and high definition televisions, perfect for post-round libations and relaxation. The Fairway Grille also boasts spacious patio seating that overlooks the golf course, water features and the surrounding mountains.

Additionally, Palm Valley is home to the Waterfront Pavilion, a popular site for weddings and other special events. The club partners with Wedgewood Wedding and Banquet Centers, a nationally recognized event planner, to create unique and memorable events to cherish for a lifetime.

If your day includes more than just a round of golf and a drink at the 19th hole, Palm Valley Golf Club is close to many of the Phoenix area’s sports venues including Peoria Sports Complex, the spring training facility for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres; Camelback Ranch, home of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox; and Goodyear Ballpark, where the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians call home for Spring Training. This all makes catching a Cactus League game and playing a round of golf on the same day a very doable scenario. Plus, University of Phoenix Stadium and Gila River Arena – each less than 10 minutes away – routinely draw top-billed performers when they aren’t hosting their respective professional teams. NASCAR fans also take advantage of Palm Valley’s nearness to Phoenix International Raceway and other special events.

Palm Valley, while already reasonable, even in the high-season winter months, offers special benefits for golfers who join their rewards program. Palm Card holders receive reduced green fees and loyalty points at the club as well as other OB Sports-managed courses nationwide. A few on the local list include McDowell Mountain Golf Club, Eagle Mountain Golf Club, Longbow Golf Club, Tegavah Golf Club and ASU Karsten Golf Course.

If you’re just on the course for a good time or you’re a scratch player looking to test your mettle, Palm Valley Golf Club has something for everyone. The rates are very appealing, especially for the winter months, and its 36 holes of golf offer different challenges whether spending the entire day on the golf course or squeezing in a round in between Spring Training games. Either way, Palm Valley Golf Club is a complete golf experience. To learn more visit www.palmvalleygolf.com or call 623.935.2500.
