Rio Verde voted No. 1 ‘Private Golf Course,’ ‘Active Adult Community’ in Ranking Arizona Opinion Poll

Rio Verde Country Club and Golf Community – the award-winning resort community northeast of Scottsdale – has been voted the No. 1 “Private Golf Course” and “Active Adult Community” by Ranking Arizona: the Best of Arizona Business.

Each category in the state’s largest business opinion poll is selected by AZ Big Media and is based upon the preferred business and leisure activities of Arizona’s business professionals. The rankings, published annually by Arizona Business Magazine, include more than 250 categories and 2000-plus entries.

Voters, which include residents and business leaders throughout Arizona, participate via the official Ranking Arizona website. The top 10 in all categories were invited to the Best of the Best Bash on April 2nd at The Venue Scottsdale.

The Lehman Design Group renovated Rio Verde’s Quail Run and White Wing golf courses – a $6.5 million project modernizing both layouts while retaining their “soft desert” playability. Par-72 Quail Run – playing to 6,602-yards – sports a traditional design reminiscent of America’s great Midwestern golf venues. The par-70, 6,535-yard White Wing features links-style elements such as fairway mounding, open green fronts and stacked-sod bunkering.

Rio Verde is located in Northeastern Maricopa County in the Foothills of the McDowell Mountains at the edge of the Tonto National Forest. The award-winning, resort community features 36 holes of parkland-style golf, a par-3 course and world-class practice facilities, tennis, hiking / walking trails, fitness center, Saddle Club and other amenities.

Comprised of 980 custom-built homes, town-homes, and villas ranging from less than $200,000 to over $1 million, Rio Verde is a low-density, master-planned community with large lots highlighted by golf course, mountain, or desert views. Its low taxes, competitive real estate prices, and tranquil location appeal to primary and vacation homeowners. Moreover, Rio Verde is just 25 minutes from the world-famous Mayo Clinic (Scottsdale campus) and 35 minutes from Scottsdale Healthcare at Shea Medical Center.

The 27,000-square foot contemporary, southwestern-style clubhouse is the center of Rio Verde social life, offering a wide variety of dining options and activities. Wood-fired pizza and other casual fare are available in the clubhouse, while fine dining at Verde Ranch offers members access to professional chefs and world-class service.
