Team of Eric McCardel and Jennifer Hahn win 2015 Angel Park Pro-Scratch Invitational sponsored by Nike Golf, presented by E-Z-Go®

Hole #4 on Angel Park’s Mountain Course, a 164-yard par 3

Professional, Eric McCardel, and amateur, Jennifer Hahn, took top honors in the 2015 Angel Park Pro-Scratch Invitational sponsored by Nike Golf and presented by E-Z-Go®.  As the first woman to win in the event, Hahn and McCardel posted 62-65 for a 127 total score in the 36-hole event held July 12-13. They finished two strokes ahead of three teams tied at second place: Alan Bluhm and Curtis Deal; Eric Fitzsimmons and Thomas Zane; Brian Vranesh and Pete Lugowski. With the win, McCardel earned $1,500 in cash and Hahn earned $750 in Angel Park gift cards.

“Our first round was about as low as we could go,” said McCardel. “We followed that up with a solid round that was good enough for the win. Thank you to Angel Park, Nike Golf and everybody else who supported the tournament. See you next year.”

As McCardel mentioned, Nike Golf, E-Z-GO® Golf Cars and Southern Wine and Spirits sponsored the event, now in its 12th year. More than 60, two-person teams comprised of one professional and one scratch amateur competed for a total prize purse of more than $12,000 in a stroke-play, one-better-ball format. The event draws teams from all over the country such as California, Arizona, Washington and as far away as Hawaii and Florida. Notable professionals Robert Gamez, David Ogrin, Scott Piercy, Jeremy Anderson and Ed Fryatt have played in the past.

“Congratulations to Eric and Jennifer,” said Phil Green, Chief Operating Officer/Principal of OB Sports Golf Management. “It was a tremendous milestone for the tournament to have its first female champion. She sets a great example for other women to not only play the game but to compete alongside the guys.”
