Team Mexico three-peats at 2015 Girl’s Junior America’s Cup

Team Arizona – Megan Ohland, Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Alisa Snyder and Kelly Su

For the third straight year, team Mexico came out on top at the Girl’s Junior America’s Cup. The Arizona team finished strong with the guidance of Captain Peggy Briggs, bettering 12 other teams in the field to place tied for 6th place. Held July 26-30 at Wyoming’s Cheyenne Country Club, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona was represented by Megan Ohland, Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Alisa Snyder and Kelly Su. Su went on to finish 6th individually for the tournament with rounds of 79-71-73—223.

 

The fun-filled week included opening ceremonies with Wyoming Governor Matt Mead welcoming the players to Cheyenne. The guest speaker at the banquet was PGA of America Secretary Suzy Whaley, who encouraged the young girls to give their best effort and make lasting friendships. More than 50 college coaches were in attendance to watch the outstanding play.
