The First Tee of Phoenix member to play in National Par-3 Championship

Kaitlynn Criswell, a student of The First Tee of Phoenix, has been invited to participate in The First Tee Par-3 Championship to be held June 21-26 at The Kanawha Club in Richmond, Virginia. Criswell is one of only 16 girls invited to play in the national event.

“Kaitlynn is not only an extraordinary golfer, she embodies The First Tee of Phoenix values both on and off the course,” said Kevin Terry, Executive Director of The First Tee of Phoenix. “We’re extremely proud of Kaitlynn and wish her the best of luck in Richmond.”

Criswell, The First Tee’s ACE-level participant, is a sophomore at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa and has been a member of The First Tee of Phoenix since September, 2011. Her involvement in the chapter is not limited to participation, as she also volunteers her time to beginning-level classes, and represented The First Tee of Phoenix at the 2015 Life Skills and Leadership Academy in Minneapolis. Criswell was also a finalist for the 2015 Arizona Sports Character Counts Contest.

The First Tee Par-3 Championship is a 36-hole stroke-play golf competition. A maximum of 32 participants – 16 boys and 16 girls – are invited to play in the event. Participants also will work to develop life skills and The First Tee Nine Core Values through dorm living, interaction with participants from around the country and information from guest speakers.
