OB Sports appoints Moore as Mt. Graham General Manager

Michael Moore comes to the Gila Valley from West Palm Beach, FL

OB Sports Golf Management announced the appointment of Michael Moore as General Manager of Mt. Graham Golf Course in Thatcher, Arizona. Moore will lead the golf and club operations at the City of Safford-owned course.

“We received a lot of interest in the general manager position at Mt. Graham, and we are confident we’ve found an excellent fit,” said Phil Green, COO of OB Sports. “OB Sports has ambitious goals for the golf course and restaurant, and Mike’s decades of experience will serve him well as we set out to achieve them.”

Moore comes to Arizona from West Palm Beach, FL, where he was the golf professional at Bear Lakes Country Club for almost six years. He was responsible for executing daily programs, while supervising a staff of 20, at the 500-member club. Prior to Bear Lakes, Moore worked and taught at Jonathan’s Landing, The Club at Winston Trails, Old Marsh Club, Breakers West Club, and Lost Tree Club in South Florida.

He has also served as Golf Professional at Kaanapali Beach Resort in Maui, Hawaii, along with Olympia Fields in Illinois. Moore is very active in PGA education, teaching seminars, and workshops, gaining valuable experience from notable teachers like Peter Kostis, Hank Haney, David Ledbetter, and famed short-game instructor Paul Runyan.

Mt. Graham Golf Course is a walker-friendly, traditional 18-hole par 72 course located in Thatcher, AZ, and operated by the City of Safford. For men, the course plays 6,354 yards to a par 72, and for women it’s 5,691 yards, and par 73. Opened in 1956, It is home to the Safford and Thatcher High Schools, and the Eastern Arizona College golf teams. It also plays host to active women’s and men’s golf associations, as well as several invitational tournaments each year; and previously hosted an annual Southwest Sectional PGA pro-am.
