Vi at Silverstone holds “Putt for Charity” to promote Charles Schwab Cup Championship

With three weeks remaining until the top 36 players on PGA TOUR Champions arrive in Scottsdale for the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship and final leg of the inaugural Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, the tournament, in association with Vi at Silverstone, a Vi and Plaza Companies Community, held a “Putt for Charity” event on Wednesday, October 19, at Vi at Silverstone to support local Phoenix/Scottsdale charities.

Participants competed on behalf of one of the 40 non-profit organizations that were in attendance. Attendees were invited to enjoy breakfast and gourmet coffee while taking in the breathtaking grounds and amenities at the premier retirement community, which boasts 10 communities spread across the country.

Vi at Silverstone is the official sponsor of the volunteer program of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, which annually recruits over 500 volunteers to help run every aspect of the tournament. Without the loyal commitment of the volunteers at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship or any of the other 25 tournaments throughout the PGA TOUR Champions season, none of these events would be possible.

At the conclusion of the competition, Vi at Silverstone & PGA TOUR officials presented a $5,000 check to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale on behalf of Putt for Charity winner Rick Baker. The organization specializes in providing youth with a safe place to learn and grow through life-enhancing programs and character development experiences with the ultimate goal of creating great futures for the next generation of our leaders.
