Tom Horaney named General Manager of Tijeras Creek Golf Club

Longtime asst. general manager takes over at award-winning Southern California facility

Tijeras Creek Golf Club proudly announced the appointment of Tom Horaney as General Manager. Effective immediately, Horaney will oversee all golf course, golf shop and TJ’s Cantina operations at the award-winning Orange County facility.

“With his invaluable experience in so many facets of running Tijeras Creek the last 10 years, Tom was the natural choice to fill the general manager vacancy,” said Phil Green, COO of OB Sports Golf Management. “The golf club, and its fantastic cardmembers, are in great hands with Tom leading the charge.”

Since 2007, Horaney has served as assistant general manager, as well as food & beverage manager, at Tijeras Creek. Under his watch, the club has increased F&B revenue by more than 40%, as Clubhouse and TJ’s Cantina renovations (in 2014 and 2016) cemented the Club as a popular local hangout. On the golf course, total rounds have increased annually during Horaney’s tenure.

Prior to Tijeras Creek, Horaney served as general manager of The Vineyard GC and Eagle Crest in Escondido, Ca., Persimmon Ridge Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., Wildfire Golf Club in Phoenix, Az., and Colony Country Club in Murrieta, Ca.

Tom and his wife, Susan, live in Rancho Santa Margarita. They have three children:daughters Haley and Isabella and son William, as well as two grandchildren, Emma and Theo.

Located in Rancho Santa Margarita, near Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, the Ted Robinson-designed Tijeras Creek Golf Club is the tale of two nines. The course layout opens with a demanding front nine highlighted by water features that come into play on four of the nine holes. The back nine is legendary for its breathtaking scenery, and awe-inspiring elevation changes as it winds through old-growth sycamores, oaks and native chaparral, including the signature par-3 16th hole. A popular venue for many prestigious outings and events, Tijeras Creek has played host to the Women’s Pac-10 Championships, along with the Men’s and Women’s Big West Championships. In addition, Tijeras Creek Golf Club is one of only four daily fee facilities in the state to have hosted the Southern California Amateur Open. For more information, visit www.tijerascreek.com, or call 949.589.9793.
