Olympian Michael Phelps joins OMEGA in Scottsdale for the OMEGA Golf Trophy Event at Troon North

Michael Phelps, OMEGA ambassador and the most-decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 28 medals, joined Swiss watchmaker OMEGA at the OMEGA Golf Trophy event at Troon North in Scottsdale.

OMEGA, Official Patron of the PGA of America and Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games, hosted the sixth of 11 tournaments April 10th, that make up the OMEGA Golf Trophy series. Phelps, an avid fan who enjoys spending time on the golf course improving his game, played the 18 holes and visited with OMEGA guests.

OMEGA began the second-annual OMEGA Golf Trophy series in Orlando, FL. on Jan. 23. Over the course of the year, OMEGA will host 11 VIP events at prestigious golf courses in Orlando, Houston, Naples, FL, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, AZ., Honolulu, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Morristown, N.J.  Nationally-renowned golf instructors Michael Breed and Hank Haney, who are both friends of the brand, host golf clinics for the guests at several of the events. 

The top threesome from each local-qualifying tournament will be guests of OMEGA at the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis this August. 

At the conclusion of the inaugural OMEGA Golf Trophy Finals last August, Phelps and Masters Champion and fellow OMEGA ambassador, Sergio Garcia, presented awards to the winning team. 

The winning threesome was presented with the Aqua Terra 150M Omega Master Co-Axial 41.5 mm Golf Edition, trophies and custom-made golf bags featuring Garcia and Phelps. 

The 2018 PGA Championship, to be held August 9-12, marks the 100th edition of one of the most anticipated golf events on the calendar. The greatest golfers in the world will compete for the Wanamaker Trophy. OMEGA has enjoyed a relationship with the PGA of America for the last eight years.
