Pinnacle Peak Country Club, 8701 East Pinnacle Peak Road, one of the top private golf experiences in North Scottsdale, has just announced an unbeatable membership opportunity for the next 35 new members. In celebration of their 35th anniversary, the 325 Full Golf Member-owned Club is marking this significant milestone by reducing the initiation fee a full 50%!

Founded in 1976, hidden by mature oleanders and tucked away in North Scottsdale on the corner of Pinnacle Peak and Pima Roads, this exclusive country club has long been recognized as a “private oasis in the desert and the best kept secret in the Valley.”

A traditional parkland style walkable course is what makes this Club stand out from the rest here in the Valley of the Sun. Unlike many of the other “target courses” in NE Scottsdale, Pinnacle Peak Country Club golfers enjoy gracious fairways from tee to green framed by hundreds of mature ironwood, mesquite, palo verde, and towering eucalyptus, which offer welcome shade in the summer and challenge every errant shot year round. Magnificent views of the majestic McDowell Mountains to the east and the Phoenix Valley skyline to the southwest along with the many beautiful gardens and lovely homes bordering the green fairways make Pinnacle Peak County Club truly unique. This Dick Turner golf course design has been renovated several times, most recently a year ago when all the bunkers were rebuilt and the tee boxes were enlarged. The bentgrass, greens which are in superb condition, offer small well protected targets, a challenge for players of all skill levels. The Championship 18 hole course plays 7030 yards from the tips, 4952 yards from the forward tees and has three other tee box choices in between. The slope and rating range from 72.8/130 to 68.0/119. The Club’s signature hole is the ninth, at its loveliest late in the day with the lake and waterfall on the right and the setting sun lighting up the clubhouse and the mountains behind. All four of the par threes are strong holes, especially the third, affectionately known as the easiest par 5 on the course. Water comes into play on the back nine as well. Eighteen provides a challenging finish with a 588 yard dog leg par 5. A successful tee shot to the top of the hill must be followed by a fairway metal which avoids the fairway bunkers down the left side in order to set up a demanding third over the lake and greenside bunkers to the putting surface. Five is a good score here.

The Club offers a full and varied tournament schedule for both men and women, and participates in NE Valley team play. From May to October Pinnacle Peak Country Club participates in a reciprocal program which allows Members to play any of a dozen other private clubs in the area for a nominal fee. Beginning golfers are welcomed, and supported by an excellent PGA Teaching Staff and by first class practice facilities which include a double ended driving range, practice bunkers, one chipping and two putting greens. In the recent past, Pinnacle Peak Country Club has hosted such AGA and USGA events as the US Open Women’s Qualifier, Junior Girls, Goldwater Cup, Senior SW Section Championship, and the PGA Gateway Tour every June.

In addition, the Club offers its Members a lot more than golf. The dining room, lounge, grill room, bar and range house are open seven days in season, with dinner served Tuesday through Sunday. Friday evening happy hours with live entertainment  always attracts a large crowd as does Sunday brunch. Many Club parties are scheduled throughout the year and Bingo Night, done the Pinnacle Peak Country Club way, is a big hit. The clubhouse, completely new in 2004, includes private meeting rooms, covered outdoor patio and dining area overlooking the lake, and a fitness center with up to date equipment and available fitness instruction. The large heated pool with its attractive deck includes two 25 meter lap lanes. The Club has two lighted tennis courts adjacent to the parking lot, and instruction is available here as well. A fully equipped Golf Shop, offering the latest in fashionable sportswear and accessories, along with a full range of golf equipment completes the package.
