Birdy & Grace Golf Apparel launches contest for 2011 search for Golf Woman of the Year

Birdy & Grace, a niche market player in the world of women’s golf fashion, kicks off its second annual Golf Woman of the Year search.

Birdy & Grace decided to launch a Golf Woman of the Year contest in 2010, in order to identify “everyday” women who through their lives inspired or helped others. Shannon Hall of Wilmington, North Carolina, was selected as the first Birdy & Grace Golf Woman of the Year. She was celebrated for her extensive community service, nursing career and belief that golf helped her cope with her battle to overcome cancer.

The nationwide search for the next Golf Woman of the Year is being promoted to members of golf clubs, women’s golf leagues, customers of pro shops, resorts and upscale retail outlets. The winner will be announced in July.

Requirements for Golf Woman of the Year eligibility are:
• Candidates must be amateur women golfers who are over the age of 25
• A brief essay is required to explain what golf means in the entrant’s life, what social causes or philanthropies are important and why you believe you would make a fitting ambassador for Birdy & Grace
• Provide two (2) photos
• Must become “fan” of Birdy & Grace on FACEBOOK
• Essay must be submitted to info@birdyandgrace.com by June 1, 2011

The winner will be announced on July 1. She will receive a trip to New York City for a photo shoot with a top fashion photography team. The winner will be showcased as a featured model in a forthcoming Birdy & Grace collection catalogue (also in pr campaigns for Spring 2012), and will receive custom-fitted outfits, as well as other prizes.

Founded in 2007 by Sharon Sunoo and Teress Stephens, Birdy & Grace was born to fill a void in the golf market. The line can be found at some of the most prestigious private clubs, retailers and resorts. Birdy & Grace is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut.
