ACU’S Ryan Eres named NCCAA Men’s Golf Player of the Week

Arizona Christian University’s Ryan Eres was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Men’s Golf Player of the Week.

A sophomore from Boulder, Colorado, (Broomfield High School), Eres finished 14th out of 84 golfers at the CBU Spring Break Invitational Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm, Nevada, March 21-22. He carded scores of 76-74-72 to finish at 6-over par 222 for the tournament, setting a school record in the process.

“Ryan’s excellent work ethic in practice is really paying off,” said head coach Bob Day. “His hard work and focus, both in the classroom and on the course, is a great example of what we’re looking for in a student athlete at Arizona Christian University.”

Eres currently holds a couple of other ACU golf records. Earlier this year he recorded an 18-hole school record, shooting a 1-under par 71 on his way to the individual win at Moon Valley Country Club; and he also holds the record for most birdies in one round with six.
