Just off Pima Road and 2½ miles to the east on Cave Creek Road, you will discover the entrance to the guard-gated, Mirabel, situated on 713 acres in the high Sonoran Desert, 3,000 ft. above the Valley of the Sun. Panoramic views of Pinnacle Peak, Lone Mountain, Black Mountain, The McDowell Mountains and Bradshaw Range are offered along with spectacular sunsets and the Valley’s city lights below in the distance. All this as well as a more temperate climate at this elevation.

Mirabel is a Tom Fazio design and opened in 2001. The course, measuring 7,146 yards (73.1/138) from the back tees and 5,105 yards (68.7/120) from the forward tees, with three more sets of tees in between, plays to a par 71. Greens are Bent A4 grass for the ultimate putting surface and the championship course offers breath-taking mountain range views throughout your golf experience. Rare features these days are the course’s walkability and available caddie service.

Masterfully laced among the lush high Sonoran Desert setting with rolling terrain, elevation changes, desert rough and more than enough bunkering plus water, Mirabel challenges the best in golf, yet is forgiving and fair to the less skilled. The course is meticulously maintained to tournament conditions, earning a reputation for having the best greens in the Valley.

Note of interest: Always consider the ”valley effect” while reading your putts as you are basically playing mountain golf at this elevation which may affect the number of strokes on your scorecard.

Mirabel is one of the most honored private golf courses in Scottsdale and has been recognized by Golf Digest, Golfweek, GOLF Magazine and The Arizona Republic as among the best private golf clubs in the United States, year in and year out. Arizona Foothills Magazine has selected Mirabel as the Best Golf Community and Best Private Club three years running for their annual Best of the Valley awards.

Offering state-of-the-art amenities, the Desert Lodge Clubhouse consists of approximately 34,000 sq. ft. in a traditional architectural style as an “early 1900’s Desert Lodge” with a unique design to suit active lifestyles and indoor/outdoor desert living. In addition to the world-class fine cuisine and casual dining, amenities include luxurious spa and salon services, four championship-caliber Har-Tru clay courts and comprehensive tennis programs, state-of-the-art fitness center as well as a resort-style swimming pool with private cabanas. The Club’s Member Services staff provides exemplary communications and concierge service.

The exclusive Mirabel golf community affords 315 custom homesites, ranging in size from two-thirds acre to over two acres, along with 35 single family detached El Corazon homes, built in close proximity to the Desert Lodge Clubhouse, ranging in size from 3,100 to 3,900 sq. ft.

Mirabel offers Equity and Non-Equity memberships that do not require property ownership. Turned over to members in 2009 and debt-free, Mirabel is one of the top private clubs in Arizona.

This award-winning community is now offering enticing membership incentives for new equity, non-equity and executive golf memberships as well as equity and non-equity social memberships.

Any approved golf membership will enjoy monthly dues waived until November 1, 2012 – saving up to $10,350. Golf memberships are limited to 300 and social memberships to 75 to maintain the intimacy of the Club. Property ownership within the community is not required for membership. Beginning May 1, 2012, initiation fees will be increased by $5,000 for non-equity golf and social memberships.

“Over the past 10 years Mirabel members have built and maintained a special ambience within the club, making it one of the most successful in Arizona,” said Michael Ryan, Mirabel General Manager. “The sense of community, stellar amenities and pristine desert location contribute to Mirabel’s continued success and desirable choice when selecting a private club to call home.”

One annual event that reflects the efforts and commitment of the entire Mirabel community is the Hope for the Cause-Mirabel Charity Classic, which made its inaugural event in 2009 and has donated over $275,000 to the Cancer Clinical Trials Program (CTP) at Scottsdale Healthcare Research Institute (SHRI).

The 2012 member events are scheduled for March and will include: 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, March 3rd; Men’s Golf Guest Day on Wednesday, March 7th; Ladies’ Golf and Tennis Guest Day on Thursday, March 8th and an Evening Reception on Saturday, March 10th including a Live and Silent Auction

The Live and Silent Auctions represent a significant portion of the funds raised. Success in meeting this year’s goal is heavily dependent on receiving in-kind donations as well as sponsorships.
