The Michael Finney Foundation and Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association join forces for the Dry Heat Classic slated for July 26-28

The Michael Finney Foundation announced plans to partner with the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association (AzSCIA) for the 2012 Dry Heat Classic. The Michael Finney Foundation will continue to support Operation Smile, Arizona Rotary Gift of Life and Wounded Warrior Operation One Voice with the proceeds of the event. The foundation has chosen to partner with AzSCIA for 2012 in order to expand The Michael Finney Foundation’s impact on the community. AzSCIA is a statewide organization, a partner of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation that work to provide quality of life programs for individuals living with paralysis.

When asked about the change Michael Finney replied, “I am trying to ensure that The Michael Finney Foundation is able to provide the state of Arizona with diversity in programming. Paralysis affects millions of Americans and their families, I support research for a cure but I want to ensure that my neighbors dealing with paralysis are able to find the resources, help and support they need in such a difficult time.”

AzSCIA looks forward to partnering with The Michael Finney Foundation. This will be the 16th Annual Michael Finney’s Dry Heat Classic. According to Executive Director Paul Mortensen this is important because, “the Dry Heat Classic has been a valley institution for over a decade. We are thrilled to be partnering for this event. Mr. Finney has hosted this event successfully for fifteen years. He puts on a first class event which is rivaled by none locally. This will serve as an amazing platform to elevate the visibility of AzSCIA, Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and spinal cord injury but most importantly it will aid our mission to provide education and opportunities for persons living with paralysis. Personally I am thrilled to have Mr. Finney representing our small organization. A comedian, magician and motivational speaker, there is no better spokesperson!”

The Dry Heat Classic will take place this July 26th, 27th and 28th, 2012 at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa. The three day event includes a celebrity golf tournament, live and silent auction including sporting event tickets and other desirable prizes, a night of culinary delights with top gourmet chefs hosted by celebrity chef Beau MacMillan, two nights of magical entertainment by comedians, magicians and a variety of acts from all walks of life.
