On November 9th thousands of women and men will unite and walk 60 miles through our community. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.
As a recent 3rd generation survivor, Shelly Mizell has committed herself to walk in the SGK 3 Day and has agreed to raise a minimum of $2300 to help fight breast cancer. Mizell was diagnosed with breast cancer October 25th, 2011...4 days before her 38th birthday. It was caught early enough and she had surgery December 7th, 2011. As of today, Shelly is cancer free.
In order to reach her team goal of $15,000, Shelly is co-hosting a breast cancer charity golf tournament on September 8, 2012. Anyone wishing to support this important cause is invited to participate in the tournament. The link to Shelly’s team page is:
