Carl Lee Howard and Nancy G. Howard

Arizona Golfer contributor and adviser, Carl Lee Howard, born in Bryan, Texas, passed to the largest golf course in the heavens and the best family domino game with all the Howards welcoming him on August 20, 2016.

Carl Lee grew up in Houston, Texas within two blocks of his first cousins throughout high school, Nancy G. Howard, Editor/Publisher of Arizona Golfer (who considers him her brother/twin), Mary Beth Howard Joslyn and Linda Jane Howard Warren.

Howard was an avid golfer and lived the past 11 years in Phoenix, Arizona, joining his cousin Nancy in many rounds, travels and adventures and contributing to the Arizona Golfer with course reviews and editorials for golf resorts in the U.S. and Mexico. He made many dear friends throughout his golfing expeditions and time in Arizona.

Beloved father of Lee Brady Howard of Oregon and Carl David Howard of Texas, grandfather to precious and cherished granddaughters Ivy and Violet Howard, close family friend (brother) Chuck Vincent and his family; and close friend/inherited son Greg Railsback, Carl Lee was preceded by parents Jack and Beth Howard and brother Bill Howard.

Carl Lee was a loving, gentle, devoted and caring man throughout his life with a great wit. He will be remembered by his golfing buddies as a quiet man of few words on the golf course, who methodically moved around the course and usually ended up with the lowest score, unbeknownst to them until they tallied up at the 19th Hole. Swing in or out, he loved the Game, never complained during his rounds and was always encouraging to his fellow golfers.

Courageous and unafraid, his quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor endured until the end. Rest in peace, kind and gentle father, brother, grandfather and most precious cousin. Your memory will live on through all of us who love you dearly.
